‘Scummb4r’ is a Google Chrome plugin, which adds Ron Gilbert’s famous Scumm adventure interface as a toolbar to the browser. It allows the User to navigate the Web in old school point’n’click adventure style. The commands are translated to internet logic, e.g. the links on the visited websites are disabled and replaced by doors, which have to be “opened” before they can be walked “through”, or pictures can be “picked up”, and be cast off at other positions. ‘Scummb4r’ was made in the context of a semester project in WS 2011, at Merz Akademie Stuttgart, supervised by Dragan Espenschied.
