Aetherium takes the idea of a crafting-system, as it can be found in many computer games, to the physical world. The user can access a hermetic system of objects and is able to combine those on a crafting-table. New objects created this way can be printed on a 3D-printer, and are added to the idea system of the interface. The project deals with the distinction between virtual and physical objects, and the constructed character of our perception of reality. The work was done in WS 2015 / 16 as a practical part of my Master thesis at Merz Akademie Stuttgart. The work was supervised by Prof. Mario Doulis and Prof. Dr. David Quigley.
